Mom’s Club

Sigma Chi Moms Club started in 1922 with the following mission statement: “To assist the active and new pledge brothers of the Kappa Kappa Chapter of Sigma Chi in improving the house.  To foster lasting relationships with our sons, their fraternity brothers, and the Sigma Chi Moms group”. Sigma Chi Moms Club’s inception coincided with the first celebration of Sigma Chi’s Mom’s Weekend at University of Illinois.

The main responsibility of the Moms Club is to plan and host Mom’s weekend events. In addition, we work as a liaison between Sigma Chi parents and the House Corporation. House Corps is made up of Sigma Chi alumni who volunteer their time to manage the property and to support our boys with different issues in the house. The third component of Moms Club responsibilities is fundraising throughout the year and specifically over Mom’s Weekend. Over the years, Moms Club has been able to raise thousands of dollars that have been put toward making 410 East John Street more comfortable for the boys. The items purchased in the past have come directly from the boys’ wish list in conjunction with House Corps guidance.
