After missing the 20K club the past few years, our chapter led off this year in a big way. Derby Days, our signature Fall philanthropy event, was a major success. We raised money in a variety of ways: Paid sorority participation in events, T shirt Sales, Luke Bryan concert tickets, and fundraisers with Potbelly and Chipotle. All of this totaled over $16,000 in donations towards the Huntsman Cancer Institute, and our annual blood drive provided 78 pints of whole blood for those in need.
The theme of this week-long event was country, with a cowboy hat as the logo. Sororities who signed up participated in four days of friendly competition, including a volleyball tournament, jousting, tug-of-war, obstacle course relay races, and a hot dog eating contest. Everyone had a great time, and it was a close competition from start to finish. A late surge gave Alpha Phi the victory, with Kappa Alpha Theta taking second place and Delta Delta Delta coming in third.
